The COVID-19 crisis is stressing out the U.S. labor force. A new survey by mental healthcare provider Ginger found that near 70% of workers claimed that this is the most stressful time of their entire professional careers.
“Companies will need to help their employees navigate these unprecedented times when the way forward is unclear for all businesses,” says Denise Leaser, President of HR technology company GreatBizTools. “One of the first steps in managing stress at work is to identify the specific things that make you anxious or worried.”
Leaser’s HR technology company has a 40-year history of helping employers improve their hiring and skills programs with solutions such as its pre-hire assessment tool WebAssess, which helps put the right people in the right job.
Her company also offers free “BizTools” to help businesses increase productivity and employee satisfaction, including a Job Stress Questionnaire.
How employees cope with job stress for the rest of 2020 can make a big difference to their productivity, safety, and overall well-being at work. The questionnaire’s results help identify and reduce sources of job stress.
Leaser adds, “If you understand what makes employees stressed out at work, you will be in a better position to help them deal with their worries and anxieties. You may also be able to offer employees some helpful insights regarding certain aspects of their job now.”
